Beauty Guide | Foundation Recommendations for Each Skin Type
Hello Dolls and Gents,
In my last post, I discussed 'Finding Your Perfect Foundation'. I provided different tips and tricks to find the perfect foundation for yourself. The biggest factor of finding the perfect foundation after colour match is skin type. Your skin type plays a huge role when purchasing makeup in general.
This the hardest because there are different recommendations that other will provided, but through trial and error, you will find a formula that is best suited for your skin type or your personally preference. For example, some people with oily skin love matte finish, like Estee Lauder Double Wear, but some may prefer a more luminous finish, like Giorgio Armani Luminous Foundation.
If you want more posts about skincare in depth, comment down below and let me know, maybe I will do a week with in-depth skin care and routine for each skin type.
Some of the foundation will overlap, but it is all based on personal preference. If you would like to see which foundation, I would recommend for each skin type, then just keep on reading.
Dry Skin
There are three formulas that dry skin ladies and gents will love, they are liquid, moisturizing foundation stick, and hydrating powder foundation. I recommend checking out these YouTubers, who have dry skin : Jaclyn Hill and KathleenLights.

Sensitive Skin
For my ladies and gents with sensitive skin usually have a reaction to certain ingredients, so be careful when trying out foundation. If you have a reaction to a foundation, it may cause rashes, acne, or eczema. I recommend checking YouTubers : Jaclyn Hill and KathleenLights. Here are some ingredient to avoid :
- Any fragrance
- Lanolin and mineral oil
- Sorbic acid, found in retinoid cream and will always and immediately cause a reaction
- Cinnamates and heliplex, two ingredient found in sunscreens, may cause nasty rashes
Recommendations
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel $28 (selected Shoppers Drug Mart and Murale shops in Canada or get it on Amazon US)
Dior DiorSkin Airflash Spray Foundation $68
Mature/Aging Skin
For my ladies and gents who have mature or aging skin, say no to heavy foundation because it will settle into your fine lines and wrinkles, which will emphasize them and make them worse. Instead go for a lighter coverage, opt for tinted moisturizer and light liquid foundations.

- Laura Mericer Tinted Moisturizer $56
- Maybelline Instant Age Rewind The Lifter $13.96
