Worth the Hype: Jessup 15pc. Brush Set

by - 8:46 PM

Hello Dolls and Gents,

First off, sorry for the late blog post. I know I usually post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday but sometimes I feel like I letting to much content out and never know what to write next. So, now I'm trying Tuesday and Thursday to see. I think I'm going to be stickng with Tuesday and Thursday when school starts or I maybe posting less. But anyways back to the post.

Today, I have a worth the hype review for you guys. If you read the title, then it is the hyped Jessup 15 pc. brush set. I ordered mine off eBay from this seller. Don't worry, my are not the fakes, this seller is an authentic Jessup beauty brush seller. The price for the whole 15 piece set was $17.26 CAD/$13.52 USD and shipping was $5.08 CAD/3.98 USD. Altogether, I paid $22.33 CAD for this 15 pc. brush set, which is any amazing deal.

Now, the backstory of me purchasing this brush set was because of Amy Macedo, she is a Beauty YouTuber. Amy sold me on the brush set and the cost of it. Plus, she lives a couple minutes from me, so I really excited that a Canadian beauty guru was telling me this. Amy made an amazing review, here is the link to watch her review.

I have been using these brushes for a month now and I have a pretty good idea on how I feel about these brushes and if it is worth the hype.

I purchase these brushes on July 1st and the estimated delivery was within July 21 to Aug 06. I got the brushes on July 14 and it was only two weeks and couple days early. But the wait was worth it, these brushes look high end and the brush name on lacquer like finish in the handles and super soft bristles.

The set comes with 7 face brushes:
  • Large Powder
  • Tapered Face
  • Powder/Blush
  • Duo Fibre Powder/Blush
  • Tapered Highlighter
  • Large Concealer
  • Concealer
And 8 brushes for eyes and 1 lip brush:
  • Large Fluff
  • Tapered Blending (natural bristles)
  • Blending (natural bristles)
  • Small Tapered Blending
  • Flat Definer
  • Short Shader
  • Eye liner
  • Lip
I was trying to not keep my hopes up, because I didn't want to believe in the hype made around these brushes until I owned and I can make my own judgement. But, you guys don't understand that these brushes are uber soft. When I got them, I was shocked by the quality of these brushes, but also the softness of the brushes. The handles are firm and sturdy and will not come off the ferrule. The brushes are made with synthetic hair and two natural bristles, which are also very soft.

The money was definitely worth getting these brushes. You get seven face brushes and eight eye brushes. These are very comparable to a high end brush set, a blog post will be coming soon to tell which one it is. The one thing is that, when I look every closely some of the bristles wasn't cut properly and are not totally even, But, honestly it is not bad because the brushes does blending and apply and work beautifully.

There is only 1 brushes that feels starch from the set and it is the Tapered Blending natural hair bristles and they are strachy on the eyes. I can still use it for the eyes, but it will take some time of getting use to it, but  I will not even think about the scratchiness in the near future

Here are my favourite brushes, so far, excuse the dirty brushes:

Large Powder

I love this brush for setting my entire face. I honestly thought I was going hate the shape of it because I prefer the e.l.f Powder Brush. This is now my HG 'Holy Grail' powder brush.

Powder/Blush

This brush is perfect for blush. I couldn't use this as a powder brush because it is too small. It could also work for contour because the side are flat.

Duo Fibre Powder/Blush

I love this brush to blend my blush, highlight and contour together so it unified instead of three strips on my face.

Tapered Highlighter

This is perfect for setting the under eye. But, I love using this more than my fan brush to highlight the face. It applies the highlight more evenly.

Concealer

This brush is perfect for apply pigments on the lids or shaping eyebrows. I used it shape my brows and it came out beautifully. I might try using it to apply cream shadow.

Large Fluff

Thank the lord, I have a brush to blend out my eye primer and set my eye bases. I really enjoy this brush. I feel like everyone need this brush.

Tapered Blending

This brush is only used for my transition colour for my eye look. This is the perfect brush to blend out eyeshadow to give a more blow out look.

Blending

This brush is literally perfect apply colour to the crease and blending it out creating a defined look. It is also perfect for nose contouring.

Small Tapered Blending

This is perfect for precise blending especially in the crease. It can also be used to blend out shadow in the lower lash line

Flat Definer

This brush perfect for apply shadow to the lower lash line and smoking out it. It can also be used to shape eyebrows as well.

Short Shader

The perfect inner tear duct highlight and brow bone highlight brush. It can also be used to blend out the lower lash line.

Verdict

This brush set is definitely worth the hype.I love this brush set and it would soon repurchase another set because it is the perfect affordable brush set. I recommend everyone to get these brush, whether you are beginner or a makeup artist. You can find this brush set on eBay and Aliexpress. These seller are authentic Jessup brushes seller. 3. Great review! I purchased the 10 piece foundation set, I've already got a Sedona Lace 12 pc original set so I won't be purchasing Jessup's 12 pc set but will be purchasing the set above :) You are so right, in all honesty I probably prefer it to my Sedona Lace brushes. The foundation brushes, mainly the large ones are fantastic, my favourite is the flat kabuki and round kabuki for foundation application, it's dense and perfect :)

  5. I am so glad I seen this I bought the BS-Mall brushes. Went to do my makeup this morning and 6 of the brushes separated from the brush handle like it was never even glues on. I was extremely upset. I cannot afford the sigma or Sedona but I still want something that is good. Thanks so much will be buying a set now.
