Budget Beauty | BH Cosmetics Missy Lynn Palette
Here is another review. You may have saw this palette in my 'Affordable and High End Makeup Haul'. You may have seen this palette around on YouTube and you probably want to know a lot more about it. Well, that is what I am going to be doing today, so just keep on reading.
This palette was created by Missy Lynn or Start2FinishMUA. When she released this palette, I was really excited because it is the first women of colour collaboration and it was a huge step for women of colour viewers and beauty gurus. I wanted to support her by purchasing this palette. The Missy Lynn palette retails for $19.00, but I purchased it during a Summer Black Friday sale, were summer items were up to 75% off, I got this palette for only $10.00...such an amazing bargain. It comes with six large eyeshadows and two baked highlighters , which make this palette so versatile. The colour selection is suitable for any skin tone.
BH Cosmetics makes such great eyeshadow palettes. These eyeshadows are pigmented, easy to blend, smooth and buttery texture. The highlighters have the same texture and is smooth, and pigmented. It can be double as an eyeshadow and can be used either wet or dry. The only thing is the palette has a funny smell and I thought it would go over time, but it is October and the smell is there. The smell does not linger when you apply the shadows and highlighters to the face. The eyeshadows and highlighters are bigger than a quarter, so get a decent amount of product.
Inside the palette
Pale White Champagne (Frost)
This colour appears to be a pale white champagne on my skin tone. It is the perfect brow bone highlight.
Cooper Brown (Metallic)
This colour appears true to colour when swatched. It is a gorgeous warm copper brown and it is the perfect colour for all seasons, especially in the autumn season.
Chocolate Brown (Matte w/Shimmer)
This colour is a chocolate brown that can be used as a transition colour or to deepen the crease and outer v.
Reddish Brown (Matte w/Sheen)
This is another perfect colour a transition colour. I got this palette because of this colour. The eyeshadow has an orange undertone, which is very prominent.
Purple (Matte w/Sheen)
This is a standard purple eyeshadow with a slight blue undertone. This is perfect for created a purple smokey eye.
Dark Purple (Matte w/Sheen)
This purple eyeshadow has a blue undertone, making a blue-purple eyeshadow. It is a great colour for a smokey eye or deepening the crease and outer v.
Golden Baked Highlight
OMG, this golden highlight reminds me of BECCA Shimmering Perfecter in Topaz. This highlight has more a warm yellow bronze undertone than Topaz, which is more of a warm copper bronze with warm gold shimmer. This highlighter is perfect all year round and for any look.
Rose Gold Baked Highlight
YASSS, the rose gold trend. This highlight is so gorgeous and it has a slight peach undertone, perfect for year round and I think any look as well.
Verdict
Overall, I love this palette and there are a mixed of neutral and bold colours that makes brown eye pop and I think Missy Lynn took that in consideration. I really enjoy this palette you can get a day to night look out of it and plus you get two illuminating powder that can be used as eyeshadow as well. This is a well rounded versatile palette and I recommend all the women of colour reading this , should go and purchase it now. I would definitely repurchase this in the near future.
