This Just In | Baking : A New Way for a Flawless Face
Hello Dolls and Gents,
So, if you have been living under a rock then you would have heard about the concept of baking. This concept has been around for many years in the drag queen community and it is now a well-known tip in the beauty community.
It all started with Kim Kardashian-West. Kim literally starts all beauty trends. Kim’s makeup artist,Mario Dedivanovic would bake the highlighted places on Kim’s face using Ben Nye Luxury Banana Powder.
Now, what is ‘baking’ or ‘cooking’ exactly? Like, I said before baking has been around for quite sometime and all started in the drag queen community. It is referring to let a translucent powder sit on our face from 2 to 10 minutes, which helps the heat from your face to set the foundation and concealer. After you dust off the excess powder, leaving you with a flawless and crease proof face.
Here are the steps to a flawless and creaseless face.
1 | Hydrate your under eye
Because you are packing a lot of powder under your eye, you want to make sure that you a hydrating eye cream to help minimized your fine lines and wrinkles.
2| Apply a somewhat thick and full concealer to highlight your face
A somewhat thick concealer is great for this process, because it is less likely to crease. Apply the concealer to where you would usually highlight, so under you eyes, the bridge of your nose, the middle of forehead.
3| Dust on your translucent powder
Before you bake your face, you want to make sure that all the places that you highlight are set. Just a take a fluffy eye brush or setting brush and dust a little powder to the highlighted areas.
4|It is time to 'bake' or 'cook' your face
Take a cosmetic wedge and dampen with a primer water or setting spray or water. Dip the wedge in the loose powder and pack on the powder to highlighted areas on your face. Leave the powder on from 2-5 minutes or as long as you want.
5| Dust off the excess powder
Using the fluffy eye brush or setting brush from step 3 and a sheer pressed powder and dust off the excess powder. The sheer pressed powder help tone down the highlight and blends the harsh edges.
Now, you have bake your face. I have a few tips for you guys.
TIP 2 | Make sure you knock off the excess with a pressed powder that matches your skin tone
TIP 3 | For tanned to dark skin women, the translucent powder may have a white case, so I suggest use a loose powder that fits your skin undertone.
