Soft Halo Glam | Prom Makeup Tutorial
Hi, Dolls and Gents
Today, I wanted to share that a makeup looks I found on Pinterest and I was able to find that makeup artist Instagram and recreated the look. The makeup artist Instagram is @beautybybless. This is also the look that my sister would love to wear to her prom.
I thought I would recreated it and share how I got the look, hopefully I did the look justices.
Let’s get started with the tutorial.
Eyes
- Fill in brows. I drew the shape of my brows with the Rimmel Brow Pencil in Black-Brown and fill the brows in with ABH Dipbrow in Ebony with the ABH #12 brush. I cleaned the brows up with L.A. Girl Pro Concealer in Espresso with Jessup Concealer brush.
- I primed my eyelids with concealer, using L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Espresso and blended out with my beauty blender. I set my eyelids with Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder in Medium Deep.
- Using a fluffy blending brush, BH Cosmetics #7 blending brush, I apply a warm red-brown as a transition colour from the Morphe 35OM palette (3rd row, 5th colour) and apply 'Sienna' from ABH Soft Glam Palette.
- Using a small fluffy brush, Jessup Small Tapered blending brush, I apply a warm chocolate shadow to the outer corner and inner corner to start creating the halo shape. Using the same brush, I going to apply 'RUSTIC' from the ABH Soft Glam palette on top follow the same halo shape on the eyes.
- Using a short shader brush, Jessup Short Shader brush, I apply warm dark brown from the Morphe 35OM palette (5th row, 1st colour) to the outer and inner corner. Focusing mainly on the inner and outer corner and using a pointed blending brush, BH Cosmetics #7 brush to further blend out the shadow and carry it into the crease.
- Using a flat concealer brush, Jessup Concealer brush with a little of L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Fawn to the centre of the lid to help create the halo eye. I apply Tarte Shadow Paint in Park Ave Princess with my finger in the middle of the eyelid. I apply 'Bronze' from the ABH Soft Glam palette on a flat shader brush, BH Cosmetics #9 brush.
- Using a flat shader brush, BH Cosmetics #9 brush, I applied 'Glistening' from the ABH Soft Glam palette to the top of your centre eyelid to add some dimension to the eyelid.
- Line the waterline with a black liner, I used my Maybelline Gel liner with my Real Techniques fine liner brush to my waterline and lined my entire waterline.
- Using a flat definer brush, Jessup Flat Definer brush, I applied 'I'm Into it' from the PatrickStarrr x MAC to my bottom lash line.
- Using a large fluffy brush, BH Cosmetics #7 brush, I applied a warm orange from the Morphe 35OM (4th row, 7th colour) to further blend out the crease and add more warmth to the eye look.
- Using the Maybelline Gel Liner with a Real Techniques Fine Liner brush to create a winged liner.
- Using a flat shadow brush, e.l.f eyeshadow brush, I applied 'Tempera' from the ABH Soft Glam palette to my brow bone.
- You can add lashes, but I didn't cause I have my lash extensions.
Face
- Prime the face. I primed my face with Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer. I set my prime with Laura Mercier Translucent Powder in Medium Deep with my beauty blender.
- Foundation and Concealer. I applied MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NW55 with beauty blender to my face. I applied Sephora Make No Mistake concealer in 13 Clove to my under eyes, bridge of nose, forehead, and chin. I blended out my concealer with my beauty blender.
- Set the face. I set my concealer with Laura Mercier Translucent Powder in Medium Deep with my beauty blender and I did not bake under my eyes. I set the rest of my face with Ruby Kisses Mineral Face Powder in Cognac with my BH Cosmetics #1 brush.
- Contour and Bronze. I used the ABH Blush Kit in Gradient. Using the Real Techniques Contour brush and 'Dusk' from the palette to contour my face. I contoured my cheekbones, jawline, and forehead. From my bronzer, I used 'Chocolate' from the palette on Jessup Blush brush to my temples, cheekbones, nose and jawline.
- Blush. I applied Makeup Geek Soulmate blush with my Jessup blush brush to my cheeks.
- Highlight. I applied Ruby Kisses Bronze Glow highlight with the Real Techniques Fan brush to the top of my cheeks.
- I sprayed my face with NYX Matte Setting Spray to set my entire look together.
Lips
For the lips, I got the exact combo that the makeup artist used, but since I don't own the products. I had to create my own. The lip combo she used was MAC Chestnut, MAC Snob, and Colourpop Clear gloss.- I lined my lips with NYX Lip Liner in Espresso, filled in the centre of my lip with Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glace. I top it off with a clear gloss using NYX Lip Lingerie Gloss in Clear.
Here is the finished look.
I hope you enjoyed this makeup tutorial that I recreated. I had a lot of fun doing this. This is some things I would change about it, but I love how it came out. Don't forget to share, comment and follow my blog. I will see you in the next one.
