Hi, Dolls and Gents
Today, I am doing a long-awaited review for myself. I got my hands on the Colourpop x KathleenLights The Zodiac Collection. This is KathleenLights fourth collab with Colourpop. She is an OG collaborator. This collection is all about the zodiac and if you are not into then, that is cool but the colour in this collection looks beautiful. This is a perfect collection collab for Kathleen, she so into zodiacs and because of her so am I. So, what is my sign? I wanted to give a little more about the whole zodiac and birth chart before I get into my review of the collection. This is going to be a long one, so grab a seat.
Zodiac and Birth Chart
This is a lot more to our zodiac sign. Everyone knows their basic zodiac sign, but there is a lot more to it. It is getting to understand your Natal Astrology, which breaks down who you are. I am going to focus on three to four of them.
So, we all know our sun sign. Your Sun sign is your zodiac personality. It is determined by the month and day you were born. Your Moon sign is how the moon governs your mood and your inner emotions. This is determined by the time, place and full date of your birth. Your Rising sign is how people see you as. General first impression from people and your spontaneous reactions.
I am going to leave it there. So, here is a snippet of my birth chart.

MOON SIGN- Aries
Life is a series of emergencies for Lunar Ariens. They live in the moment and have a hard time waiting for things to happen. Whims of the moment take absolute precedence in their lives. This is a fiery position of the moon. Lunar Ariens have an unmistakable independent streak. They put themselves right out there in the world, and make an impression in whatever they do. Their self-confidence is actually variable. Oddly enough, this is a very defensive position of the Moon. These natives take things very personally, and they deal with problems by facing them right away so that they can then get on with other things.
RISING SIGN (OR ASCENDANTS) - Virgo
People with Virgo rising are often a little understated in their personal mannerisms and appearance, although a lot depends on the position of Mercury (the ruling planet of Virgo) in the chart. Generally, there is an intelligent and reserved aura about Virgo rising individuals that is unmistakable. These are actually somewhat shy people who need time to analyze things around them before they warm up to both situations and people.

Okay, so that you have information about my birth chart and who I am. Let's get to the review.
The Zodiac Collection Review
I purchased this collection on the day it was released. I wanted to get my hands on the PR package, but I opted to get the entire collection instead because it was cheaper. The full collection was $57 USD/$81 CAD. I placed the order on July 26 at 1 PM EST. My order was shipped on July 27. It arrived in British Columbia, Canada on August 1st. It arrived in Toronto on August 3. It took a week to get to me, which is not too bad. I didn't pay for customs and duties for this package.
Packaging
The packaging for the entire collection was beautiful. The box was navy with constellations on the box. The theme of this collection was gold and navy. I also think Kathleen did an amazing job with the packaging.
Products
The Zodiac Palette
This is probably one of the palettes that everyone thought was so beautiful and I think so too. I love how the palette is a navy blue with the zodiac signs in gold. The palette retails for $18 USD for 12 shades. There are five mattes and seven shimmers/metallic shades. Now let's hop into the shades.
The Aries - metallic fiery orange
The Taurus - matte camel tan brown
The Gemini - metallic bright antique gold
The Cancer - shimmer icy peachy pink
The Leo - duochrome shimmer soft coral with a gold flip
The Virgo - matte chocolate brown
The Libra - matte dusty rose
The Scorpio - rich metallic plum
The Sagittarius - bright matte magenta purple
The Capricorn - matte black with gold shimmer
The Aquarius - matte cobalt blue
The Pisces - metallic aqua blue
Supernova Cream Shadows
Everyone has been hyping the formula since it has been released. This is my first time using it.
Astrology - yellow gold foil
Constellation - rose gold foil
I have to say that it dries down pretty fast and once it is dried, it doesn't move. The applicator on the cream shadow is flat so you can apply to it directly onto your lid or you can use a brush. You can blend the edges of the cream shadow, but it does move the product around. I would recommend patting rather than pulling to make sure you get an even blend. I also found that I couldn't layer Astrology because it would pick up the product, so one swipe is good enough.
Super Shock Highlighters
Kathleen added two of the super shock highlighters to her collection, which is not shocking at all. This is my first time trying this formula out. I had an interesting experience. I don't know if I how I feel about it yet.
On the Cusp - gold champagne
Fire - rose peachy gold
I have a difficult time figuring out how to apply this product. I have seen so many YouTubers use this product but when I follow the same steps, it seems to apply weird on my cheekbones. It feels like a cream but dries like a powder. It is a unique formula.
Lux Lipstick
Kathleen added two lipsticks to the collection. She wanted to add lipsticks to the collection because she loves the formula. She created two shades, a nude and a purple mauve.
What is your Sign - nude brown
Scorpio Moon - mauve pink, lipstick version of Lumiere
I love this formula of the lipsticks. It is hydrating and smooth. The finish of the lipstick is creme finish. What is your sign is the perfect nude brown lipstick for Kathleen, who is on the fairer skin complexion spectrum and I am on the other end of the spectrum. This lipstick colour is way too light for me, but with a warm brown lipliner or even lining my lips with MAC Film Noir, I am able to use this lipstick and make it look good against my skin tone. For Scorpio Moon is a mauve pink, again this looks a little too light on my skin tone. I have tried two different ways, I have lined my lips with MAC Film Noir to get a brown mauve pink or lined my lips with NYX Suede Lip Liner in Oh Put it On to get a more purple mauve pink. I also found that Scorpio Moon stains my lips and leave a pink stain.
Verdict
Overall, I really like the palette. It is the perfect palette for summer and fall. I think Kathleen did an amazing job with the colour choices and really focusing on each zodiac characteristics to create the perfect colour. I love the formula of colourpop eyeshadow, it is smooth and blends out beautifully. I would just pass on the supershock highlighter in on the cusp, it is way too light on my skin tone but makes the perfect inner corner highlight or eyeshadow. The lipsticks are workable with my skin tone, but I have to manipulate the colour very well. I love the eyeshadow palette, there are shades from an aqua blue to a dark brown and black. It has all the right shades to create a soft or dramatic look. The supernova shadows are amazing. I have to get my hands on more of the shadows, once they are dry they do not move which is perfect for my hooded eyes.
