End of Year Beauty Favourites

2018 is over and we are the new year of 2019. 2019 is going to be a good year, positive vibes only. I wanted to share what my favourite products were in the last year. Since I never did monthly favourites because my products don't change, I did discover and try out a lot of new products in 2018. You guys saw them in reviews or makeup hauls or currently loving posts that I did or never saw them at all.

I am going to break into categories of makeup application because it is a lot easier that way and I can think of what I actually loved last year. There may be some products that I never purchased but constantly got samples of them at Sephora.

Okay.let's get started, it's going to be a long one. Get cozy and grab a snack.

PRIMERS

MAKEUP FOREVER STEP 1 EQUALIZER IN MATTIFYING

I used this primer a while back and decided that I would pick it up again. It is the perfect primer for controlling my oily t-zone. It does control my oily t-zones on my face but my oils still break through no matter what. I would recommend this primer to my oily skin people.

TOO FACED PRIMED AND PEACHY COOLING MATTE PRIMER

Another primer, I discovered in 2018. It is a cooling primer that smells likes peaches and helps with control oily. It feels lightweight on the skin and there is no tightness on my face. Blurs the pores, mattifies skin and control oil. I also love the scent of the primer, but not everyone will love the scent. I can apply this primer to my entire face and will feel nothing. Great primer to pick up and try out.

HOURGLASS MINERAL VEIL PRIMER

This primer is amazing. I believe that I discovered this primer this year because of Nikkia Joy. It is a lightweight primer and kinda leaves a purple cast on the skin. It dries down and helps with smoothing the skin and controlling oil.

FOUNDATIONS

NARS NATURAL RADIANT LONGWEAR FOUNDATION

There was so much hype about this foundation when it was released. I did a review on this foundation so I won't go into too much detail. I love this foundation so much, it is the perfect match for me and I love the coverage on the foundation as well. It has a natural matte finish which it looks good on my skin. The wear time of the foundation is incredible as well.

THE ORDINARY HIGH COVERAGE FOUNDATION

Another foundation, I discovered in 2018. This is one of the best affordable foundations I have used in a while. I have a review on this foundation as well. It is the perfect everyday foundation because it gives me the coverage that I want at an affordable price. My skin looks flawless for a $7 foundation.

FENTY BEAUTY PRO FILT'R SOFT MATTE LONGWEAR

This foundation has to continue in my year when I got in 2017. I have nothing but good things to say about this foundation. It is a medium to full coverage foundation. I wear this foundation on special events and when I want something more matter, but I always try to use for special occasions. I will never stop recommending this foundation.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME MATTE AND PORELESS

Finally, after trial and error, I have found my perfect shade. I literally have been trying to get my hands on this foundation in the right shade since the expansion. This is a good alternative if you don't want to break the bank. The colour match is on point, it controls my oils and the coverage is medium to full.

TOO FACED BORN THIS WAY FOUNDATION

Another foundation I discovered in 2018. I purchase this foundation after my New York trip and I had to get my hands. Jackie Aina help expand the shade range and I went into the store and pick up any shade and hoping it matches me. I am glad it did, it is the perfect foundation for the colder months here in Canada.

ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR FOUNDATION

This foundation is amazing. It is a long lasting foundation and a satin matte finish. It is full coverage foundation and helps control oil. It is the best foundation for a night out and oily skin. I can't wait to purchase the full size of this.

MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID

This foundation is an OG for me and I always seem to go back to this foundation. Perfect for any occasion and it looks perfect, smooth the skin, medium to full coverage and oil control.

NYX CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP FOUNDATION

This foundation is amazing. This foundation is full coverage, doesn't settle in fine lines, cakey or heavy or creases, transfer and controls oil and long lasting. This is an amazing affordable full coverage foundation.

CONCEALERS

MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE

Well, this concealer was popular for comparing to Tarte Shape Tape, well isn't every concealer. I love this applicator on this concealer. It is the perfect medium to buildable concealer and it doesn't dry to fast so I have time to blend it out. This is the closest dupe to Tarte Shape Tape. It doesn't break down, brightens and doesn't look cakey.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME CONCEALER

Oh, this concealer has so much hype and I have to say that I love it. It is the perfect concealer for everyday use. It is a light coverage concealer that is hydrating and works well with any light to medium coverage foundation. It doesn't break down, brightens, and makes the under eye area looks good.

TOO FACED BORN THIS WAY MULTI-USE SCULPTING CONCEALER

As a new addition to my concealer stash was this concealer. This concealer was an amazing discovery in 2018. I love that is a full coverage concealer and it's lightweight, creamy, easy to blend out, lifts and brighten and comes in 10+ shades. I actually like this more than the Tarte Shape Tape. I love everything about this concealer from packaging to applicator and shade.

SEPHORA MAKE NO MISTAKE HIGH COVERAGE CONCEALER

I feel like this concealer is my underdog in my collection. I have to say that this is my most full coverage concealer. I got this concealer thanks to Katy. This concealer is so full coverage that a little goes a long way. It is the perfect concealer for my glam look with super high coverage. It doesn't break down, covers blemishes. smoothes the under eye area and doesn't settle in fine lines and wrinkles.

MAYBELLINE INSTANT AGE REWIND CONCEALER

This concealer is an OG when it comes to beauty. Maybelline recently extends their shades and I got my hands on the shade hazelnut. I love that the product comes through the sponge applicator making it easier to apply the concealer. It is long lasting, doesn't crease, brighten, doesn't get cakey and looks good.

POWDERS (PRESSED AND LOOSE)

LAURA MERICER TRANSCULENT MEDIUM DEEP LOOSE POWDER

Well, it's not like a mention this powder in every makeup look, so I am not going to speak on it too much. I love this powder. I just finished it and I wanted to try something new but this will always be by OG powder. It is the perfect powder to set my primer and under eyes well brighten and not giving me a cast.

MAYBELLINE FIT ME LOOSE SETTING POWDER

Well, another powder that I use in every makeup look. I love this loose powder to set my entire face. I feel like it adds some coverage to my face and smoothes out my skin for me. It is the perfect shade and I will always have it. I am still working on my first one.

HUDA BEAUTY EASY BAKE LOOSE BAKING AND SETTING POWDER

This powder is for sure a late addition into my makeup collection. I just got this powder and I have been using this powder for the last three weeks and love it. It creates an airbrushed finish and blurs out pores and fine lines. I don't bakes and using this powder to bakes makes skin looks good and doesn't feel heavy under the eyes. It helps control oils so well and I use this before applying foundation to bake to help control my oils. I will review this powder in the new year.

EYESHADOWS

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS SOFT GLAM

One of the new ABH palettes to release this year. This palette is the perfect palette for someone who doesn't want too many eyeshadows and one palette is enough. It has all the perfect shades for an everyday look and a night look as well.

COLOURPOP DREAM ST PALETTE

I have to say that was my go-to palette in the summer. Since I got my hands on it, I haven't been able to put it down. Colourpop x KathleenLights did a good job with the colour combinations because it seems like I couldn't put it down from a minute. I love all the warm tones and pop of colours in the palette.

MORPHE 35O2 PALETTE

Thank you, Sephora for bringing Morphe to your stores. I had to get my hands on this palette after I saw it. I didn't see it in the Ulta when I went to New York, It is is the perfect warm tone palette for the fall and summer. I love all the colours in this palette a lot more than my other Morphe 35OM palette.

MORPHE 9C PALETTE

Another palette that I used a lot during the fall/winter time. This Morphe palette has the gold, browns, oranges, and purples making it a palette that I don't usually go for. I couldn't put this palette down when I got my hands I got and now it is available at Sephora.

BROWS/LASHES

RIMMEL EYEBROW PENCIL IN BLACK BROWN

This year I discovered a new eyebrow product, which is not a pomade but a pencil. I picked this pencil up on a whim this year and I fell in love with this pencil. It is a great pencil that is easy to use and allows me to fill in unruling brows.

RD BEAUTY LASHES IN KUWAIT

My lashes of the year. I discovered this lashes this year and I fell in love with how this lashes looked and how natural yet dramatic. I love these lashes so much and I constantly repurchase. I will definitely be getting more lashes next year.

EYELINERS AND MASCARA

BENEFIT BADGAL BANG MASCARA

Well, I usually never try high-end mascara and this year I tried this mascara. This mascara is amazing for anyone who has short lashes because it makes the lashes look longer. I got this mascara after everyone hyped this mascara on YouTube and when I saw Alissa Ashley used and I fell in love with it.

L'OREAL LASH PARADISE MASCARA

Restocked of 2018, I don't remember if this came out in 201 or 2017 but I was loving this year. It is the perfect mascara for length and volume. This mascara was repurchased many times and I love how it makes my lashes look. It is quite similar to Too Faced Better than Sex mascara.

URBAN DECAY 24/7 EYE PENCIL IN ZERO AND DEMOLITION

Finally got my hands on these liners. I got these liners this year and I haven't put them down. I love how creamy they are but they stay in place all day and night. I got my hands on black and dark brown liners.

HIGHLIGHTERS/CONTOUR/BRONZERS/BLUSHES

SEPHORA COLLECTION CONTOUR BLUSH SPICE MARKET PALETTE

This palette was a happy purchase in 2018. I got my hands o this palette after one of my besties recommends it to me. I love that comes with blush and highlighters. I use one of the blushes as a bronzer. I love all the colour in the palette and it looks amazing on my skin.

DOSE OF COLORS DESI X KATY MIRAME HIGHLIGHTER

This is highlighter was a highlight for 2018. I can't remember when I did not use this highlighter in a look or on an everyday basis. I literally love how it looks on my face. It is the rose gold highlight that looks wet and beaming.

MAYBELLINE MASTER CHROME HIGHLIGHTER IN MOLTEN TOPAZ

This highlighter is the perfect molten topaz from the drugstore. This highlighter can be built up for a more wet look or useless for a more natural look. When Maybelline released this highlighter everyone was talking about Molten Gold, but Topaz is better suited for my skin. It is soft and blended out really nicely.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS GRADIENT BLUSH KIT

This blush kit is everything for me in 2018. This palette has not stopped since I got my hands on it. I have used two shades from this kit often. These blushes are really pigmentated and can be buildable to make it look more natural or stand out. There is a contour shade and it is the perfect shade to contour my face for a more sculpted look.

LIP LINERS

MAC LIP LINER IN CHESTNUT

OMG, I have been sleeping on this lip liner. This is one of the lip liners that every WOC recommends and I glad that I got my hands on it. I have not put down this lip liner since I have gotten and it becomes my daily lip liner.

BITE BEAUTY LIP PENCIL IN 044

044 is the dulled down one.

This lip liner is really good and it has been amazing in my collection. It is the perfect rich mahogany when I'm not using chestnut. It still deepens my lip colour. The formula is creamy and smooth.

LIPSTICK/LIPGLOSS/LIQUID LIPSTICKS

FENTY BEAUTY STUNNA LIP PAINT IN UNVEIL

This is the perfect nude liquid lipstick that I have in the collection. I glad I picked up this liquid lipstick. Without a liner, this colour is the perfect nude for me. Lined with Chestnut lip liner it has been my staple lip colour no matter what look I do.

FENTY BEAUTY GLOSS BOMB UNIVERSAL LIP LUMINIZER IN FENTY GLOW

Love this gloss. It is one of the glosses that I have been using interchangeably. I picked up this gloss because it is a beautiful gloss. I wear for everyday gloss lips. It is not too sticky on the lips and it smells really good. I have been this on top of the Stunna Lip Paint in Unveil and it looks amazing.

TARTE TARTEIST GLOSSY LIP PAINT IN SNAP

One of my brown glossed I have been loving. This gloss is kinda tacky but looks beautiful on top any lipstick that I use this year. It smells good and looks good. It doesn't wear that long but it is a vibe.

SETTING SPRAYS

MORPHE CONTINOUS SETTING SPRAY

This setting spray was a late discovery in 2018 but it one of the products that I was happy to discover. Everyone also talks about this setting spray and for a person with combination skin. It adds a glow to the skin and makes the skin look more natural.
