by - 5:00 PM

Hello Dolls and Gents,

Now that we have discussed primers and foundations for special event, it now time to turn our focus on setting powders and setting sprays.

As we discussed in the last post, you have to set your faced not matter your skin types. When you set your foundation that allows it to stay put all night and help for becoming a grease ball in a matter of hours. As SPF is avoid in foundation, some would say to avoid finishing powder with silica. I will be do a post that will debunk that myth around silica powder. For the purpose of this post, we are avoid silica powder. Silica powder has a light reflecting or light catching particles that attract the flash of the camera to that area that has the powder is sitting. If you have dry skin, this is important because your skin is dry therefore that are no oils coming through to absorb the silica powder, which causes a white cast. If you are oily skin, you skin will absorb it.

These setting powder look good in daylight and in person. Setting powder can be used to brighten and highlight your skin. When looking for setting powder, look for a powder that is translucent. I know for many women of colour and tanned women, that  translucent powder are not translucent and can leave a white cast on your face. These powders I recommend do not leave a white cast for my dark chocolate and caramel sisters.

Now, moving on to setting sprays. Setting spray are used to prolong the wear of your makeup and take away the powdery look to your face. Setting sprays are perfect for normal, dry, and combo skin. If you have oily skin, you may have to prep your skin different, but you can still use a setting spray.
