Long Lasting | Orange Summer Makeup Tutorial
Hi Dolls and Gents,
So, as you are reading this I will be camping with my best friend's family and my sister. But, before I left for this trip, Toronto had a heat warning for more than two day. I got thinking, this is perfect to create a long lasting, waterproof, sweatproof tutorial. I started this tutorial do this, but it turned it a makeup look which was inspired from my rust orange dress. I wanted to create a look based on the colour orange, so this look has a long lasting, waterproof, and sweatproof base, but the eye look, not so much.
I find when it is really hot, I want to wear the less amount of makeup, but I want the full coverage glam. I want my based to be light, but glam and to withstand the heat, sweat and water. Let's begin with this tutorial.
- Let's start with a base. I want to control my oily t-zone, but I want it to stay like that for a long period of time. I prime my face with Urban Decay Deslick Oil Control Setting Spray.
- Now, let move on to the brows. I want to go for a natural brow. So I am going to try a new technique. I'm going to shape my brows with the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Espresso with my BH Signature Gold Brush #12. This is going to allow to create the shape I want before I fill them in. I am going to fill them in with ABH Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony with BH Signature Gold Brush #11.
- Now that the brows are done, let's move to colour correcting. I am going to take the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Orange Corrector to correct all the acne scars, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation. I blended the corrector out with the Real Technique Deluxe Crease Brush.
- Now for foundation, I am going to use the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal in Mahogany because this concealer is water resistant. I have a full review here. I apply the concealer all over my face and blend out with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush.
- For highlight my face, I decided to skip on adding more concealer and use a translucent powder to set under my eye and highlight. I applied the Laura Mericer Translucent Powder to my forehead, bridge of nose, under the eyes, under my contour line, and chin with a damp BeautyBlender.
- To set the rest of my face, I used my Ruby Kisses Mineral Powder in Cognac to set my rest of face and to wipe the Laura Mericer powder to tone down the highlight.
- For my eyes, I wanted a simple but bold eye look. I created a wing liner with the NYC Liquid Liner. I wanted to add a shimmer colour, so I add the shimmer orange (row 4, column 5) in the NYX School Dropout Graduate to the inner tear duct and lower lash line. I then took the warm orange shadow (row 3, column 5) from the same palette and blend it out on my lower lash line with the e.l.f Essential Eyeshadow Brush. I, then added Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Tu-Tu-Turquoise to the waterline to add a pop of blue.
- I applied mascara next and I wanted my short lashes to look full and long. So I first applied the Maybelline Great Lash Lot of Lashes and CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Waterproof on my bottom lashes and applied NYC Big Bold Volume by The Lash, then Maybelline Great Lash Lot of Lashes and CoverGirl LashBlast Length Waterproof.
- For blush and highlight, I applied the warm orange shadow from the NYX Beauty School School Dropout Graduate Palette using Jessup Blush Brush. I applied the gold highlight from the Missy Lynn Palette with my Jessup Tapered Highlighter Brush.
- For lips, I lined my lips with Annabelle Liner in Coffee and fill it in with Essence Lip Liner in 08 Red Blush. I applied NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick in Orange County and top it off with NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Banana Split.
