Givenchy Noir Interdit Lash Extension Mascara | Review
Hi Dolls and Gents,
I am bringing you a mascara review that I have been sent. As you can tell by the title of my blog post, it is the Givenchy Noir Interdit Lash Extension Mascara. This mascara has been getting a lot of hype because of the wand of the mascara, it goes a full 90 degrees. If you like to know my thoughts, keep on reading.
This fall, Givenchy decided to release a new innovative mascara called Noir Interdit for $38 CAD. With its new bendable brush, this mascara promises to lengthen, volumize and lift your lashes.
Packaging
This mascara is housed in a rectangular lacquered black tube with ribbon details in silver. The Givenchy Noir Interdit mascara features an innovative bendable wand. Attached by a hinge, the wand can bend 90 degrees backwards. This is to provide more lift and a closer application.
90 Degree Wand
Okay, so the actual wand is a one-sided comb that is made of stiff tapered plastic bristles that go outwards. I do not mind the plastic bristles that much. The bristles are shorter towards the ends and longer in the center.I do not mind the plastic bristles on this wand, but the 90 bendability is what I am not really loving. The bristles are not sharp, but I did find myself poking or getting mascara on my face when using it bent. When it is not bent, I honestly like it. The bent wand for me is not realistic for me.
The design of the wand was well thought out. To me, it sounds good on paper but as functionality was not there. I like the idea that wand helps lift lashes, but it works for people who lash is not lifted. My lashes are naturally curled, so I did not benefit from that.
Formulation
I am not a fan of the wand, but I think the formula is good but not my favourite. This is my first luxury mascara and I expect my mascara formulation to help with the lashes I have. I experience some clumping when I applied the mascara, but that can be from the wand. This mascara is called Lash Extension, but it did not extend my lashes a lot. a very small amount. I feel like this mascara does not need the name Lash Extension. Though it did not really provide me with a lot of length, volume and lift, it did a little for my lashes. It was really natural. The scent, OMG. Not a fan of the scent at all. It is a strong floral citrus scent that I can find a the dollar store. The smell does linger under your nose.
Final Thoughts
I am not a fan of this mascara. I love the creativity behind this mascara but it was planned out right. The wand was simply not the best, it pokes you eyes and gets all over the face. The formula is not the greatest, it did not see a huge difference in my lashes and the scent is not for me. If you are someone who has longer lashes than I do and loves strong scent you will love this mascara.
This mascara is available at Sephora both in store and online for $38 CAD.
I hope you enjoyed my first mascara review. I hope you like my honesty in the review. This is based on my experience. I will see you guys in my next post.
