______
Hopefully, you guys find my skincare routine helpful and you find some new products and tricks. My routine will change again, but this what I have been using for the last four to six weeks and I wanted to share it with you. I will be posting my night time routine as well.
Today, I am sharing my updated morning skincare routine. I got a lot of new skincare that I have been using for about two months. I will be doing my night time and morning separately because I wanted to explain my process of choosing the products I am using and as well as the benefits it has to my skin type.
If you like to know my detailed skincare routine, just keep on reading.
Morning Skincare
I decided that this year I will focus on my skin. I have been using different products on my skin and I have never had a routine that I fully stuck to. My skin type is combination skin. My t-zone is super oily and the rest of face relatively normal. Before, I focused my skin care on my oily parts of my face because that was a major issue for me. So, all the products were stripping on the skin and my normal parts would get super dry and flake. This time around on focusing on both my oily t-zone and my normal to dry areas.
If you have combination skin like I do. It is better to focus on rebalancing the moisture in your skin. If you didn’t know if you have oily or combination skin, you are creating a lot of sebum production because your skin is dehydrated, so there is an excessive amount of sebum that your body makes to help with the fact that your skin is dehydrated.
Since I have learned this. I have focused on rebalancing my skin as well as using products that will help with issues I have with my skin.
Cleanser
For cleanser, my main focus is on my acne scars, dark spots and uneven skin tone/texture.
Ole Henriksen The Truth Foaming Cleanser
This cleanser is a good for my skin type and the issues I will like to improve my skin. I still don’t know how I feel about it yet. The cleanser is a foam and it is not stripping on my skin that makes my skin feel dry. It has a citrus scent and it actually helps cleaning the impurities in my skin, as well as removing makeup and help with dark spots and uneven skin tone.
Exfoliater
For my exfoliating, I am focusing on my dark spots, uneven texture/skin tone, pores, and blackheads.
St. Ives Green Tea Scrub
I have been using this scrub for a while now and I always go back to it. This scrub is gentle enough to use every day both day and night. This scrub contains green tea and salicylic acid which helps with acne, blemishes and anything else. I used this in the morning and night because I always to take control of my blemishes.
Ole Henriksen Transforming Walnut Scrub
This is a new addition to my exfoliating family. I used this scrub on days that I feel like my skin is dry and dull. The scent of this scrub is amazing. It smells very earthy. I alternate this scrub with my St. Ives when I feel more on the drier side and my skin is flaking. The scrub is more on the moderate to harsh side of scrubs. I use this scrub two to three times a week.
Toner
For toner, I am focusing on my large pores, oiliness, discolouration, acne, light dark spots, prevent blackheads, and maintain pH levels
ACV Toner
The toner I used is a homemade toner that only uses two ingredients. It involves Apple Cider Vinegar and water. I mixed ACV with water to dilute the vinegar. This toner is amazing. I love my skin looks when using this toner. This toner helps with various issues and it is literally an all-purpose toner to help with different problems. It helps with acne, dark spots, shrinks pores, maintains pH levels.
Serums and Acids
For serums and acids, I am focusing on an overall hydration to the skin and to balance out my skin.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid
This has been a major change in my skincare routine. Adding hyaluronic acid to my skincare routine. My skin needs a boost in hydration and as I have been using this, I have seen a difference in skin and I'm happy with the results. My skin feels more hydrated and my skin is a little less oily. I think no matter your skin type, your add hydration to your skincare routine especially when are products that may strip your skin.
Moisturizer
For my morning moisturizer, I am focusing on hydration, oil controlling, lightweight and even skin texture.
Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer
This is my first time using Ole Henriksen products and this moisturizer feels really nice on my skin. This moisturizer focuses on evening skin texture as well hydrate the skin. It is not a heavy moisturizer. It feels lightweight on the skin and sinks into the skin very quickly which I love.
