Hi, Dolls and Gents
Hello, it has been a busy few weeks for me and it is going to get busier, 'tis the season right. Today, I wanted to talk about a concealer that a lot of hype when it was released and that is the Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. Too Faced add a new concealer to the Born This Way collection after the expansion of their shade range for the foundation with Jackie Aina.
I was debating whether or not I wanted to try this concealer out, but I was curious about the formula and application as I never tried a Too Faced Concealer before. The Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer is hydrating, light-weight and full coverage. We couldn't ask for more?
This concealer is full coverage and hydrating? It is infused with coconut water like their other Born This Way products to help replenish the skin moisture level, alpine rose to brighten and promote elasticity and hyaluronic acid for a smooth, youthful appearance. And mixed with high pigment for the perfect concealer.
Packaging and Design
The bottle of this Born This Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer is so luxe. The Multi-Use concealer has the same packaging as the original Born This Way Radiant concealer with the blacktop, gold detailing and lettering. You would think that the bottle is glass, but it is plastic, but the frosted bottom of the bottle gives it a more super luxe glass type of feel.
Price and Shade Range
Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer comes with 15 mL/0.50 fl oz. of product for $36 CAD/$29 USD, which is double the amount of concealer you would get for a standard concealer. The Born This Way Naturally Radiant concealer contains 7 mL/0.25 fl oz of product and comes in 12 shades. I haven't tried the Born This Way Naturally Radiant concealer, so it can't compare both of them. The Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer comes in 20 shades with different undertones.photo credit: www.trendmood.com |
Details
What it does:This hydrating, buildable, multitasking concealer masks imperfections, smooths and sculpts skin for natural looking coverage. It's infused with coconut water, alpine rose and hyaluronic acid—skin-loving ingredients that come together for crease-free, weightless wear that's so naturally flawless they'll think you were born this way.
What else you need to know:
Born This Way Concealer Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer is available in 20 versatile shades. Its doe foot applicator allows for a perfectly-precise application. The weightless formula hydrates skin - so it's never dry or cakey. It's non-comedogenic, photo-friendly and flashback-free and wears up to 12 hours.
Applicator
The doe foot applicator is slightly large than standard doe foot applicators on other concealers but also well loved and practical. I love that the applicator is slightly large because it allows me to apply concealer under the eyes with one dip into the bottle. It is the right size to hard to reach places when highlighting and contouring.Coverage
The concealer is full coverage. It is not full coverage like Sephora No Mistake Concealer but it is up there. I love the coverage of the concealer and I tend not to build it up because I get the coverage I need for an everyday look but for a more glam look, I do build it up a bit.Shade of Choice
The shade I have is Mahogany, which is a very deep golden. I tend to go with a concealer with a golden undertone for a more highlighted effect, but also my foundations tend to be more on the red undertone side, so I am able to balance out my face. I don't have a shade to contour or bronze with because the deepest shade is my skin tone match which is Cocoa.Formula, Consistency, and Longevity
It doesn't accentuate my fine lines, pores, dry spots or crease immediately. It does settle into my fine lines under my eyes but every concealer does that so I am not bothered by that. The formula on the concealer is a creamy texture that feels lightweight on the skin. The formula also blends out so easy and does not dry quickly as well. The finish of the concealer is a more natural matte finish. It does have a slight tackier texture, so I set the concealer down with either my Laura Mericer Transculent Loose Powder in Medium Deep or Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Powder in Cinnamon Bun. You might be able to get away without setting it if you have more dry skin but if you are like me and have oily-combo skin, you need to set that concealer in place.
I have worn this concealer a few times, granted I got a few months ago, but I have worn it for more than 12 hours and I didn't see anything that changes for when I applied earlier. My under eyes were smooth and creaseless. It doesn't feel heavy on the face, like other concealers and it is comfortable on the skin. When you first apply it, its super hydrating on the skin and smooth. I don't spot conceal or colour correct cause I am lazy and my foundations tend to cover everything I want anyway. At the end of the day, my oils have come through on my nose, forehead, and a bit on my cheeks, but the concealer stayed put and did not change.
Comparing to Tarte Shape Tape
Since we are constantly comparing concealer to Shape Tape, trust me I understand. Both Shape Tape and Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer does not skimp on pigmentation. A small amount of concealer will provide full coverage, which is perfect for dark circles and blemishes. The consistency of Shape Tape is more on the liquid and less emollient than the Born This Way Multi-Use, so it makes it easiest to spread and blend out. I prefer this one than Shape Tape. Like I said before, I have a love-hate relationship with Shape Tape and Born This Way Multi-Use is much more hydrating. The Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer melts into the skin beautifully into the skin without settling into the fine line or pores.
All in all, I have in love this concealer. I am glad I finally got my hands on this concealer after debating about for a while. This is a concealer I could repurchase again and again. All I need Too Faced to do is extend the shade range of the concealers so there are varieties to contour and highlight for both ends of the skin tones. Other than that, I have no other complaints about this concealer. I recommend you guys trying out this concealer.
