Hi, Dolls and Gents

Today, I am bringing you a review and swatches of the new ABH Riveria Palette. I purchased the palette and I decide to create a look as well and talk about the palette. I did film the review, but I will put a summary, in case you missed something I said or I forgot to talk about something.

PIGMENTATION AND PERFORMANCE

I recommend this palette that is not a surprise. The pigmentation of all the shade range from good to great. I found Estate, Cabana, and Coastline would not work for me as transition shade for my skin tone, so they work for as lid colours which is okay with me. Sails is the perfect inner corner highlight or base to make Bahamas or Cannes brighter, but I can't use as brow bone highlight. Bahamas, Cannes and Palm are all pressed pigments, so they are really pigmented. They are easy to build up. When using a pure pigment, you will run into some issues of blending. I found that Cannes was easy to build up and blend, but it got patchy, so it made it a little hard to work with. Bahamas was so easy to blend and there was no difficulty to build it up. I didn't use Palm, so I can not speak on it how it blends, but is very pigmented from swatches.  There was a bit of kickback but not as bad as Subculture first patch - will always be a comparison for kickback, lol.

As for the metallics, ABH always kills it with metallic shades. The shadows are very soft and so they do have some fallout to them, but that is nothing new. The metallic pack on beautifully on concealer base. I love Seychelles,  Seaside and Mediterranean, those are the most interesting stand out shades in the palette. I had no issues of performance of the metallics. The shades pack on well and some of them stay true to colour - Cannes seem to change colour when applied. There were no fading issues from wearing the look, expect the patchiness of Cannes that was it. I did find that Bahamas stained from swatching the colour, but I didn't get staining from any other colour.

WORTH THE HYPE OR NAH?

This palette is definitely worth the hype. It is the perfect ABH palette to have a neutral and pop of colour that balances everything out. It is the first colourful palette in my collection and I can't wait to create more looks with this palette. Like I said in the video, I wish there was a deep navy blue but I am happy with the colour selection.

LOOK I CREATED:

Shades Used:

Monte Carlo: transition colour; easy to blend
Bahamas: crease colour; bright neon pink and easy to blend
Cannes: Outer corner and inner corner; experience some patchiness, could have been blended a little better, but I am happy with the look
Palmero: centre of the lid; beautiful metallic pink shade, could have blended it better with Cannes
