FIX IT TUESDAY : FLASHBACK FROM SILICA OR HD POWDERS
Hello Dolls and Gents,
So, if you are wondering, why I am posting on Tuesday instead of Sunday and Monday, is because I kinda forget to write a post and I didn't know what to write about. So, I thought about something that I always to know more information about, this is Silica or HD Powders.
So, today I wanted to tackle a makeup myth that someone of you may believe or did not even know. You must be wondering, Maame. what the heck are you talking about? Well, I am talking about silica or HD Powders. I know that a lot of companies have made powder that is perfect for HD photography, the powder is called SILICA.
SILICA is a mineral powder. It is very light and an airy powder that feel like nothing on the face and has the ability to absorb several times of it weight and size and does not leave a white cast on the skin.
Now, here is the myth is that HD powders leave a white cast on the face. Well, I just learned something that debunks this myth, and that is the silica powder or HD powder has to have some moisture to turn clear. Think of it in this way, silica powder as sugar, when you put sugar in water it dissolves right and it become a clear in the glass of water. Silica powder works the same way when it comes in contact with moisture, in order for it to become clear. Makeup Artist, Jordan Liberty says that silica powder or HD powder should not be used on dry skin, because you will get the white cast. It is perfect for combo to oily skin, because the oil absorbs the powder, making it turn clear. Use a fan brush to apply the silica or HD powder, for a light finish.
Now, here is a solution for everyone and everyone should be doing this. But if you have dry, normal, oily, combination or even sensitive skin and you use a silica powder or HD powder, and you get the white cast, add moisture to the face, by using, guess what, SETTING SPRAY.
Using a setting spray to set your makeup, will add the moisture to the powder, making it turn clear and you will no longer have the white cast. I recommend that everyone use a setting primer, it helps prolong the wear of your makeup.
