First Time with Lash Extension | Beauty
Hi, Dolls and Gents
I know, I haven't posted in a while, but I have some post coming your way. Today, I wanted to come and talk about the lash extensions. I know its a random thing, but from the title, I have let you know that I have tried out lash extensions and I want to let you know, if it is worth the hype.
So, recently I decided to tried out lash extensions. I have seen so many people doing them and as of recently, it has become very popular. I wanted to test the waters to see how I prefer it to wearing a regular lash strip. I will break down all the information. Let's get started.
Lash Extension Stylist
So, since I wanted to do lash extensions. I have been looking a load of different people to do it for me. I literally look at every Instagram page of a someone here in Toronto. Now, the person who did it for my lashes, her name is Jennifer. She is actually cousins with one of my best friends. So, I got a good deal with her. Now, Jennifer has been doing lash extensions for some time now, but I was not able to get her business card or she doesn't have an Instagram page. Jennifer made sure I was comfortable and even ask me if there was a particular style I was going for. She was invested in what her customers wanted and the results they will receive.
Pricing
Now, lash extensions range from $60-100+. Different styles or sets will cost you a different price. Jennifer actually charged me, $60 for the classic set which is about normal pricing for experience lash extensions stylists. For the other sets, Jennifer charges. You can compare to other people who do lash extensions as while.
- Volume (3D-10D) - $120
- Refill for Volume -$80
- Classic $60
- Refills for Classic -$40
My Lash Extensions Experience
Okay, since I have given you all the important information, let’s get to the experience. The first thing Jennifer ask of me was to make sure their was no makeup on my face, which I went with makeup on because I left from work. After, I lay down on the table, she began to place the lash extensions pad under my eyes and use some tape under my eyes. The tape is a part of the experience to sure that the pad that is lay down is flat and protect your under eyes.
When she started to place the false lash in my natural lash, I could feel the the tweezers near my eyes. Which was weird, I could feel her moving my lashes to place the false lashes. As she was placing the false lashes, she used 10-12mm lashes. The longer length on the outer corner and mid-length on the rest of my eye. It took me an hour and half to get it done. I was the quickest out of all my friends. I had a least watery eyes. She told me that since my eyes didn’t get watery, it was easier and faster to apply the lashes and for the glue adhere to my lashes.
When she was finished, I actually hated them. I wasn't use to them and I hate them instantly, mostly the length on the outer corner and how my eye lids are slightly hooded. I got home and brush them out a bit more and went to bed.
I had to get used to have lashes this length. I couldn’t apply anything near my eyes, especially any oil products. I also find it difficult to apply eyeshadow because the lashes were in the way. Sometimes, I do add some shadows to my lids, but I don’t do it often because I can't handle cleaning my eyes with a Q-Tips. Going to bed, doing my skincare, and showering was different. When water gets on the lashes, I literally can't open my eyes. Her sister did say that would happen, so when you are the shower you feel blind because you can’t open your eyes. For my skincare, I just had to work around my lashes. For bed, I don’t sleep with my face in the pillow, so I didn’t have any problems with that.
Here is how my lashes looked close up and far apart. You will be able to see the lengths and how natural it looks.

Weeks After Lash Extensions
Now, that is been a few weeks. It is time to refill the lashes. I am still debating if I am going to do it. But some of the lashes did fall out, and it didn’t take out any of my lashes. One lash came out the first night,, the rest fell out weeks later. I have a love-hate relationship with lash extensions. I love how they make my eye look. My lashes are already done for the day and I have one less thing to do in the morning, but I hate that I could get a my eyes clean properly and all eyeshadow fall on my lashes. I don't if I am going to do it again. I have pretty happy with putting on lashes, since I have gotten a better at them. This is definite learning curve and maybe the next few times I do it I will be able to handle the routine of caring for the lashes. All in all, I do like these lash extension. Like I said, I do have a love-hate relationship with them, but again with time I will get used to them and I won't hate the care for these lashes. I wanted to share a few tips with you guys who are thinking about getting lash extensions done.
- TIP #1: No Makeup: It will make your life and your lash extension stylist life easier. If you are doing with a beat face, be ready for all your concealer to come off. Bare face is the best way.
- TIP #2: Stay Calm : Knowing that there will be tweezers nears your eyes, stay calm. Take a nap or focus on something else so you are comfortable. If you are not comfortable like your lash stylist know and they can make you more comfortable.
- TIP#3: Don't apply anything near your eyes in the first 24 HRS : Make sure that your eye area is free of any makeup for the first 24 hrs, so the lashes can set nicely.
- TIP #4: NO OIL PRODUCTS: Make sure any products going near your lashes are oil free. If not, the oil will break down the lash adhesive and your lashes will fall out faster.
I hope you enjoyed my little reviews and first impressions on lash extensions. It is definitely an experience I wanted to share you guys. Please don't forget to comment and follow my blog. Lets get to 1000 readers by the end of 2018.
