Hi, Dolls and Gents,
So, as many of you know Too Faced recently extended their Born This Way Foundation with YouTuber Jackie Ana. She helped extend the darker shade range and medium dark shade range as well. Since the relaunch of this foundation, I was curious as to what foundation shade I would be now that it has been extended and if I would like the wear of the foundation.
Now, you probably already know that I already reviewed this foundation and wanted to pass on the foundation. It is funny how life works because I never wanted to try the foundation when it was first released and when they extended their shade with one colour and now adding another nine shades.
So, now that I have tried the foundation again, I wanted to update my review and talk about the shade range now.
As many of you have heard, Jackie Aina helps Too Faced expand their shade range. I have to applaud Too Faced for getting a woman of colour involved to help with the shade range expansion because she was able to help guide them in the right direction and create shades that are always excluded or forgotten about.
The new nine shade are:
- Praline - medium tan golden
- Butter Pecan - rich tan gold
- Brulee - richest tan golden
- Spiced Rum - very deep rosy
- Sable - rich rosy
- Ganache - richest neutral
- Chai - deep golden
- Tiramisu - deep golden
- Truffle - rich golden
So, you might want to know what my new shade is. Well, since I got tanned this summer. Sable is my summer shade, so my winter shade is Cocoa. The foundation is $49 CAD/$39 USD for 1 fl oz.
Okay, so my updated review of this foundation.
Formula
This foundation is a water-based foundation but is not too runny because there is a thickness to the foundation. It does not feel heavy on the face at all. It is a medium billable foundation. It is a natural skin-like finish. The scent is very mild, is not too strong and offensive. You can tell that there is a light perfume scent when you first apply it, but it does not linger.
Packaging
The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle. The labels are kept to a minimum and printed on the bottle in a gold-leaf style. The look of the bottle is classy. The pump is nice and smooth, and the spring works well giving your total control on how much is dispensed.
Application and Wear
In my previous review, I said that the foundation was easy to blend it out. I applied the foundation at 8:30 AM and used my beauty blender to blend out this foundation. It is a natural finish and you can get medium coverage with just two pumps which are enough for this foundation. The coverage is good and it covered all my imperfections. I also said that it did not blur out my pores, and I still stand by that. It doesn't blur out my pores, but it does smooth over my pores and fine lines. It is a lightweight foundation and hydrates the skin as well. When I finished applying the foundation, it has a natural finish, not dewy finish. It is not too tacky, you can get away without setting, but I did anyway.
In the first check-in, which was around noon to 1 pm. My oils had come through and I blotted and I didn't touch my face until I removed my makeup off my face.
After, 15 hrs. of wear, from 8:30 AM - 12:15 AM. In my previous review, I stated that the foundation broke up on my nose and separated. Now, I have to say that the foundation did not break around my nose, though my nose did get oily the rest of face looked pretty good. This foundation is not transfer proof.
In the photo, I am wearing on two different days.

Shade Comparison
Final Verdict
Overall, I love this foundation. I think why I passed on it before was because I hated the idea of a natural finish foundation. The major difference between this review and the old one was the change in my skincare. I think my skincare routine played a major key in how I felt about foundation sitting in my face. This is s good everyday foundation for me, I won't wear it for a night event, but for day event this is the perfect foundation. The fact this foundation has hyaluronic acid in the foundation helps hydrate the skin and rebalance the skin. This is a key ingredient in combination skin. I recommend this foundation to all skin types, my oily people may love or hate this foundation but it is worth a try.
