Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review

Hello Dolls and Gents,

Today, I decided to review with Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, because I have own these palette for two months and it is good length to give my full review. If you like to read the full review, keep scrolling down.

The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette contains sixteen eyeshadow from a pale beige to deep bronze, and the finishes is from matte to metallic to frost. This palette contains two large highlight eyeshadow, which is 0.10 oz. each and the rest of smaller eyeshadow is 0.03 oz. each. This palette is available at Sephora ($59 CDN) and Too Faced Cosmetics website ($63 CDN). The palette smells is like sweet cocoa. The quality of the eyeshadow varies from shade to shade, as some are more soft, buttery, and dense in texture and other are powdery, sheer, or a combination of two. All in all, the palette has darker and smokier neutrals with a couple of pop colour (pale pink, deep purple), if you have a lot of neutral palette, this maybe unnecessary or maybe unique.  Most of the eyeshadow wear about eight hours or more, but some of the powdery shadows starts to fade.

One thing, I wish Too Faced would be to put the name of eyeshadow names on the palette not a piece of plastic. Not everyone is going to keep the plastic with the shadow names and if someone lose the plastic, you will not know what the colour is called. (They have a new packaging that has the name of the shadows on the palette)

Gilded Ganache is a dark chocolate brown with warm, caramel undertone with yellow bronze shimmer. The colour payoff is good and the texture is buttery and soft. The only con is that there is minor fall out.

White Chocolate is a warm-toned, pale beige with a matte finish. The colour payoff is okay, you have to build the colour to get it really opaque.

Milk Chocolate is a medium-dark warm tone brown with reddish-yellow undertone with a matte finish. The colour payoff is good, it applied smoothly and is easy to blend out. This is perfect transition colour for fair to tan skin, for deeper complexions perfect lid colour.

Black Forest Truffle is a burgundy-brown with burgundy and bronze sparkle and shimmer. The formula of this shadow is drier and slightly gritty, texture and colour payoff is semi-opaque

Triple Fudge is deep-dark brown with a slightly cool undertone and a matte finish. The colour payoff is amazing and buildable.

Salted Caramel is warm-toned, muted medium orange with a hint of brown and a matte finish. The colour payoff is good, but the texture is slightly powdery, This is a great transition colour for fair to tan skin. For deeper complexion, this makes a perfect lid colour or highlight.

Marzipan is a warm, peachy-orange with frost metallic finish. The colour payoff is excellent, the texture is soft, buttery, and smooth.

Semi-Sweet is a medium dark brown with warm reddish undertones and a matte finish. The colour payoff is good and is semi-opaque. This is a good transition colour for deeper complexions

Candied Violet is a smokey violet with cool undertone and multi-coloured shimmer. The texture is  slightly gritty and stiff to use and the colour payoff is semi-sheer. Applied to the lid, it is very sheer and hard to blend and it not buildable. The best way to get colour payoff is to wet your brush.

Amaretto is a warm toned, medium dark brown with reddish tones and frosted sheen. The colour payoff is good and the texture is soft and buttery to the touch.

Hazelnut is a medium dark, golden bronze with soft frost sheen. The texture is soft, but slightly powdery and the colour payoff is good.

Creme Brulee is a darkened gold with warm undertones and rich metallic finish. this shade is excellent colour payoff and texture is soft and buttery.

Haute Chocolate is a muted dark chocolate brown with warm reddish undertones with frosted finish. The colour payoff is fantastic and the texture is rich and smooth.

Cherry Cordial is a warm toned, plummy brown with fleck of sparkle over a matte. The colour payoff is semi-opaque and the texture is a little dry and powdery. This is the perfect transition colour for deeper complexion and the perfect colour for fall makeup.

Champagne Truffle is bright, pink white with a golden sheen metallic finish. It has good colour payoff and has good pigmentation and texture is soft. This is perfect for highlight in generally.

Overall, I love this palette and being a women of colour, I found ways to make these colour work for my skin. For the colour to show up on deeper complexions, use a white eyeshadow base.
