NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation | Buy it or Leave it

Hi, Dolls and Gents

I feel like I have not done a review of a foundation in well. I have been posting a lot of tutorials and hauls, but no reviews. That being said, I am going to be posting some reviews in the next few weeks. I have a lot of products I want to review for you that I have used but never seem to post them for you guys. It will include makeup and skincare.

Today, I am going to be reviewing the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. When NARS released this foundation, I was shocked. I don't own a NARS foundation, but I have tried the All Day Luminous Foundation and it was not for me. So, when I saw this foundation, I thought I would pass on it and then I saw the words "long-wearing" and "33 shades", I knew I had to try it out. So, that is what I did and I am going to share my thoughts with you, so please keep on reading.

Overview

The NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation is available at Sephora for $60 CAD/$49 USD for 1 fl oz./30 mL. There are 33 shades, mine being Nambia (Dark 4) which is the 3rd darkest shade.

This foundation claims to be long-wearing (up to 16 hrs), medium to full coverage, lightweight, fade-resistant, while looking natural as possible.

The packaging of the foundation is super sleek, very NARS. It comes in a slim rectangular bottle with the NARS logo, black cap and a pump.

Formula

The formula of this foundation is a lot thicker than the All-Day Luminous foundation. It is a creamy texture and it spreads out nicely.  I got a sample of this foundation, so I can't tell how many pumps it takes for a full coverage, but one pump would be enough for some people. I think for myself, 1.5 pumps is enough coverage for me. This foundation lives up to the claim to be weightless. Though the formula is quite thick, it doesn't feel heavy on the face. The finish of the foundation is not a dewy foundation at all. It is more like a radiant matte finish, which I actually love. It gives you a natural glow to the face without being shiny.

Application, Shade Selection and Wear

When I first applied this foundation to my face, the first thing I noticed that the shade selection was on point. The colour of the face matched my chest very well, it gave my Fenty Foundation a run for its money. I am in the shade Nambia (Dark 4) which is deep with red undertones. Literally, the shade selection allow makes me want this foundation in full size.

For the application of the foundation, I noticed immediately that a little goes a long way. Cause I don't have the full size and just a sample. I applied at least one and a half pumps of foundation on my face. The foundation does spread on the face nicely, so you do not have to use a lot. This foundation didn't clingy to any dry patches that I have on my skin. I don't have a preferred application of the foundation, I do not mind using a beauty blender or a flat buffing brush.

I have worn this foundation a few times and the first few times I set my entire face, but I decided just to set my t-zone. I applied the foundation at 8:15 AM and wore it until 12:40 AM the next day. That is about almost a 15 hr day, which is crazy. I have combination skin, so no matter what I do my foundation always disappears after the 7 or 8 hr of my oils that have come through. I only blotted once, which was at the end of my shift, so at 4 PM. The first thing I noticed that my face did look oily, but it was not a bad as expected. Once I blotted my face and continue to wear the foundation it looked the same until my oils took control. The foundation does transfer when I touched my face, but it did not fade at all. Also, my oils did not break down the foundation. It just sits on top of my nose. Almost like the Fenty foundation. Also, the longer I wore the foundation it didn't feel heavy on my face. It felt as lightweight as I first applied it.

I have tried a setting spray with this foundation and I have to say that makes the foundation look more natural and it looks beautiful.

Shade Comparison

Since this shade is the perfect match for me. I wanted to share shade comparison to other foundations that I own that match me as well.

Final Verdict

Overall, I do like the foundation. It is something that I would never go for. This foundation is the perfect foundation for any skin type. If you are combo/oily skin, you need a primer. I love that feels lightweight on my skin, even as I wear it longer. I love that is fade resistant, so it doesn't look patchy on the face. I would recommend trying out this foundation if you have been eyeing at Sephora. Also, the shade range is amazing. I amazed that I find my shade on the first try or thanks to Sephora Color IQ.
